Collaborations
The Ripple Effect.
The Ripple Effect is one of the most meaningful collaborations I have ever been a part of and one I am incredibly proud of.
Brought together by a shared love of slow fashion, community creativity and our oceans, the project saw over one hundred local people come together to create a one of a kind wearable dress made entirely from materials we already owned. Not a single new item was purchased or used. Inspired by Sir David Attenborough’s film on our oceans, every panel, every stitch and every thread was contributed by members of the community.
Alongside the dress, the project extended into a series of community workshops in slow stitch, mending, block printing, embroidery, appliqué and denim jacket upcycling, welcoming participants of all ages and abilities, many of whom had never picked up a needle before.
The dress was revealed at a sold-out community celebration on Friday 8th May 2025, Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday to an overwhelmingly emotional response.
The Ripple Effect was funded by Derbyshire Makes and supported the Marine Conservation Society, championing ocean protection, slow fashion and the extraordinary things that happen when a community comes together around something bigger than any one person.
If you are interested in collaborating on a community project, an event or a creative workshop, big or small, I would love to hear from you.
